Kepez at a glance
Kepez is one of Antalya’s most populous districts, stretching north from the centre towards Döşemealtı. For a curtain shop in Kepez the picture is very different from the coast: no sea view and fewer glazed balconies, but closely spaced apartment blocks, three- and four-bedroom family flats and lots of children. Most households here ask two questions. How do we get daylight without the neighbours across the street seeing in? And what will stay clean and keep working for years without fuss?
Being inland, Kepez can feel hotter on summer afternoons than the beach districts, and rooms facing south or west warm up until evening. Homes near main roads and building sites also deal with more dust.
Neighbourhood notes
- Teomanpaşa and Kültür – older, densely built streets with standard window sizes. Zebra blinds with a sheer are the classic set-up.
- Gündoğdu and Kuzeyyaka – mid-rise family blocks; blackout roller blinds in bedrooms, aluminium blinds in kitchens.
- Göksu and Ahatlı – newer complexes with wider balcony doors.
- Santral and Fabrikalar – close to busy main roads, so dust is a factor; wipe-clean fabrics and venetian blinds make life easier.
- Habibler and Erenköy – stretching towards Döşemealtı, with some detached houses with gardens; the easiest part of Kepez to reach from our showroom.
- Varsak – the fast-growing area on the Döşemealtı road, with its own page: Varsak.
Practical recommendations
- Living room facing the next block: zebra blinds for adjustable privacy, softened with sheer curtains. Not sure between zebra and plain roller? Read zebra vs roller blinds.
- Bedrooms and children’s rooms: simple roller blinds in blackout or wipe-clean fabric, with a chain that can be secured.
- Kitchen and bathroom: aluminium blinds – steam-proof, wipe clean, long-lasting and budget-friendly.
- Wide balcony door: vertical blinds that stack to one side.
Renting or letting?
Plenty of Kepez families rent, and that changes the decision. Made-to-measure blinds may not fit the windows of your next flat, so tenants usually do best with simple, affordable roller or zebra blinds. Landlords preparing a flat to let have the opposite priority: durability and easy care. Aluminium blinds and roller blinds with solid mechanisms, in neutral tones that suit any furniture, cause the fewest complaints as tenants come and go.
Dust and everyday use
Homes near busy roads collect dust quickly. Zebra and roller fabrics can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth, aluminium slats are closed and wiped in one go, and sheers go in the washing machine. In family homes we also assume the blind will be pulled dozens of times a day, so we recommend sturdy mechanisms.
Prices in Kepez
Price depends on product, size, fabric and mechanism. Averages we can share: aluminium blinds about 2,000 TL/m², wooden blinds about 3,000 TL/m², pleated blinds 1,000–4,000 TL/m². Zebra, roller and sheer prices vary with fabric and window size, so we quote them after measuring – and if the budget is tight we show two or three fabric options per room. See the prices page; credit-card instalments are possible.
