How the day and night system works
The fabric runs in a continuous loop, so there is a front layer and a back layer in front of the window. Each layer has sheer stripes alternating with solid ones. Pull the chain and the two layers move relative to each other:
- Sheer over sheer: the room stays bright and you can still see out.
- Solid over sheer: passers-by and neighbours can no longer see in, and harsh light is softened.
- Fully raised: the window is completely clear.
You switch between “day” and “night” with a single pull while the blind stays down – the key difference from a single-layer roller blind.
Why it suits Antalya flats
In busy districts such as Kepez and Muratpaşa the building opposite is often only a few metres away. A zebra blind lets daylight in while stopping people looking straight into your living room. At midday you close the solid bands to keep the heat down, then open them again in the late afternoon.
Choosing fabric and colour
Stripe width and texture vary between ranges – linen-look, plain and slightly sheen finishes are all available. We bring the sample book to your home so you can compare them in your own light. Pale shades feel airy; darker shades create a stronger, more graphic stripe when closed.
Where it is not the right choice
If you need total darkness for sleeping or a home cinema, a zebra blind on its own will not be enough. Choose a blackout roller blind instead, or add lined curtains in front of the zebra blind. Our guide to zebra vs roller blinds compares the two room by room.
Best suited for
