A town people live in all year
Most of the area around Manavgat is known for hotels – Side, Kumköy, Sorgun. The town itself is different: it has its own market, schools and hospitals, and families live here twelve months a year. Central streets are lined with five- and six-storey blocks, newer residential complexes have gone up on the edges, and older detached houses survive in the lanes near the river. Curtains here are opened and closed every day, face kitchen steam and get tugged by children, so durability and easy cleaning come first, with looks a close second.
River, plain and summer heat
The Manavgat River runs straight through town to the sea. Streets near the water can be damp in the morning, while the flat plain means west-facing windows take long afternoon sun in summer. Blocks stand close together, so ground-floor flats need privacy from the building opposite, and upper floors need protection from heat and glare. Heading inland towards the waterfall and the Oymapınar dam, houses spread out, gardens grow and winters feel cooler than on the coast.
Around Manavgat
- Aşağıpazarcı and Yukarıpazarcı: dense blocks near the market; street-facing windows need daytime privacy.
- Sarılar and Milli Egemenlik: newer complexes with wide living-room glazing and glazed-in balconies.
- Şelale and Örnek: quieter, greener streets upriver, where trees shade some rooms all day – here we think about letting light in, not keeping it out.
- Çolaklı, Kızılağaç and Evrenseki: the eastern coast, where hotels, pool complexes and village houses mix and many homes are summer-only.
Holiday flats around the ancient town are covered on our Side page.
Room by room in a family home
In the living room, the set-up we fit most often is a double curtain system: sheers by day, drapes in the evening, each running independently. Choose machine-washable sheer curtains if you live near the river. In kitchens, aluminium blinds with 16 mm slats wipe clean of grease in a minute. For children’s rooms, zebra blinds darken the room for an afternoon nap with one pull of the chain and open it up again afterwards. West-facing bedrooms benefit from a blackout roller or pleated blind.
Glazed balconies and pleated blinds
Many flats in the new complexes have folding glass on the balcony. Here pleated blinds are measured per pane and travel with the glass, and the top-down/bottom-up version hides the lower half from neighbours while daylight still comes in at the top. On fixed glazing, a roller or zebra blind is simpler. We compare the options on our balcony blinds page.
Prices in Manavgat
Price depends on product, size, fabric and mechanism. Verified averages: pleated blinds 1,000–4,000 TL/m², aluminium blinds about 2,000 TL/m², wooden blinds about 3,000 TL/m². Curtain systems, sheers, drapes and zebra blinds are quoted at the free visit once we have the sizes. See our prices page for the overview. Manavgat is a long way from our showroom, so we don’t promise city-centre terms; if a travel arrangement is needed, we say so when you book. Credit-card instalments are available.
How a visit to Manavgat works
Our showroom is in Bahçeyaka, Döşemealtı, on the far side of Antalya. Send us a few photos of your windows on WhatsApp first, in English if you like, and we decide which sample books to bring. The visit is booked for a fixed day, ideally alongside other appointments in the area, and you pick fabrics in your own light – no need to come to the showroom. If you own a summer house on the coast and live abroad, someone you trust lets us in and you approve from photos and video. Moving house? We also offer curtain removal and refitting. Book your free visit whenever suits you.
