Holiday flats around an ancient town
Most enquiries we get from Side come from homes used for only part of the year. Around the old town, the coast from Kumköy to Kızılağaç is largely hotels, holiday complexes and apart-hotels. Side officially belongs to Manavgat district, but the year-round family homes in Manavgat town have quite different needs – those are covered on our Manavgat page.
Many owners here live abroad. Flats are lived in for a few months, then closed up or let. That raises three practical questions: will the blinds fade while the flat stands empty in strong sun, can a different guest every week use them without breaking anything, and who looks after the job while the owner is away?
Around Side
- Selimiye, inside the ancient town, has old stone buildings, guesthouses, restaurants and shops; windows are small and irregular, while restaurants have wide glazing and terraces.
- Kumköy complexes are within walking distance of the beach – privacy on pool-facing balconies, midday sun on sea-facing ones.
- Sorgun sits near the pine forest; trees shade some façades, so not every window needs the same product.
- Ilıca has a growing number of newer complexes, many with glazed balconies.
- Çolaklı and Kızılağaç, further east, have large complexes with pools and roomier flats whose bedrooms catch the morning sun.
The brief for a rental or second home
Zebra blinds let guests adjust daylight with alternating sheer and solid bands and give privacy at night; the chain mechanism needs no explanation. In bedrooms, blackout blinds stop the early summer sunrise – the room that makes the biggest difference to guest reviews. On the balcony door, sheer curtains in a washable fabric keep the room private while the breeze still comes in. For folding glazed balconies, pleated blinds are measured per pane and fold away with the glass.
Between seasons, a little care goes a long way: wash the sheers at the end of the summer, wipe roller and zebra fabrics with a damp cloth, and run each mechanism up and down a few times before the first guests arrive. We pick fabrics that a cleaner or site manager can look after without special knowledge.
Guesthouses and apart-hotels
For small hotels and apart-hotels we offer blackout and flame-retardant fabrics – see curtain solutions for hotels. Contacting us well before the season gives everyone breathing room.
Prices
Price depends on product, size, fabric and mechanism. Verified averages: pleated blinds 1,000–4,000 TL/m², aluminium blinds about 2,000 TL/m², wooden blinds about 3,000 TL/m². Zebra, blackout and sheer curtains are quoted at the free visit. More on our prices page. Side is one of our furthest areas, so we don’t promise city-centre terms; any travel arrangement is discussed openly when you book. Credit-card instalments are available.
How it works when you are not here
Our showroom is in Bahçeyaka, Döşemealtı, so Side is a planned trip rather than a quick visit. Start by sending photos of your windows on WhatsApp; we choose which sample books to bring and book a fixed day alongside other appointments nearby. You can book a free home visit from abroad – your site manager or a friend lets us in. We share measurements and fabric options as photos and video so you can decide from home, then produce, fit with our own team and send you a video of the finished rooms.
