Controlling light in the classroom
Smart boards and projectors are now in nearly every classroom, but next to a sunny window the screen is hard to read. When the teacher lowers the blind, the room needs to get properly dark. That is why we suggest blackout roller blinds on the board side and screen roller blinds on the other windows, so pupils still have daylight. For choosing by façade orientation, see curtains for Antalya’s climate.
Heavy daily use
A school blind goes up and down many times a day and is sometimes yanked by pupils. So we:
- choose chain-operated, non-slip and sturdy mechanisms;
- use vertical blinds or aluminium venetians on wide corridor and sports-hall glazing – a damaged vertical slat can be replaced on its own;
- back all mechanisms with a 2-year warranty.
Child safety
Hanging chains and cords are a risk for small children. In nursery and primary classrooms we secure the chain with a wall-fixed tensioner and set the controls out of children’s reach. Cord-free motorised systems are also possible on request.
Planned around the school year
At the survey we record each classroom’s orientation, board position and window sizes. Using one colour and model throughout keeps the building looking uniform, and we fit during holidays or at weekends. Average product rates are on our curtain and blind prices page.
